Mixed Media on Wood – 12” x 18”
Everything and everyone gets pulled down by the ultimate force named ‘Gravity’.
But what if we, humans, move against this force – Going up and above and even further being an ‘Anti-Gravity’?
This artwork created by ‘Kirti Mehta’ from ‘Life Onn Canvass’ belongs to the
‘Distracted’ series created by the artist. The artist through ‘Anti-Gravity’ attempts to
depict how humans rise to great heights in life in terms of material possessions and achieve resultant success and/or failures thereby becoming anti-gravity themselves. In this desire to rise higher & higher you tend to gravitate against your roots, your origin, your core!
The artwork has a smooth finish on one end contrasted with rough texture on the other. This is another attempt of the artist to depict disparity and distraction which we encounter while rising up from our roots. Our rise could either be smooth resin-like or rough like a texture which might nullify the rise, the progress. It’s up to us to choose whats the correct way to lead our life and how to carve out distractions encountered thereupon.
There is a two-fold impression depicted by this art; one being strive of humans to rise, in a distracted-distorted manner, in whichever way possible and other that such rise could be topped with smooth ends or rough experiences blemishing the rise itself.
